Reading Canoe
Club negotiates special access to the River Loddon for the annual Div 3 and 4
races over Sunday and Monday of the Mayday bank holiday weekend. Located between
Woodley and Hurst to the east of Reading, the course is easily accessed from
junction 10 of the M4 via the A329M.
At Sandford
Mill, the river meanders through land owned by Dinton Pastures Country Park and
private gardens. The course is designed to take advantage of the natural flow of
the river and the hump backed bridge towards the end and is the perfect place to
start your Slalom racing or to develop confidence through Division 3.
Facilities are by nature of the temporary
arrangements, basic, but we have ample car parking and camping and the club
provides a range of food and drinks during the event. In 2008 there will be a
‘Curry Night’ social where you can pre order food from a local Indian Restaurant
which will be brought to site on Sunday evening. We hope that this will
encourage more families to stay over and enjoy 2 days of racing.
Information and results will be on -
