ACM 2007: Decisions on Rules

6.1 Changes to International fixtures and entries: competitors must inform the Administrator of their intention to race 6 (not 12) weeks before a competition. Podium Programme, Home Nation Programme, regional and clubs groups (in that order) have priority when places are limited.

6.2 Change to Short Season Status: no change - the motion was defeated.

6.3 Changes to Promotion from Division 3: No change - the motion was defeated.

6.4 End in season promotion from Div 1 to Prem: no change - the motion was defeated.

6.5 In order to correct an oversight regarding C2 points: ranking positions in C2 Div 2/3 will be based on 4 races, as in K1 and C1.

6.6 To remove the obsolete entry fees for officials: passed.

6.7 Appointment of Jury Chairman: the Slalom Committee will normally appoint the Chair for every Prem and Div 1 event only. At races organised by the Slalom Committee a Committee member can be appointed as chair - the Committee is not an 'organising club' under this rule.

6.8 BCU 'Taster' Fees: Paddlers are to be charged the BCU minimum plus £1

6.9 Minimum weight of boats: boats may be wet when weighed.

6.10 Rule 9.4: Section Judges are appointed for Prem, Div 1 and the British Junior and Veteran Championships. If there are not enough Section Judges there must be two judges covering each gate, one acting as a Section Judge.

6.11 Entry Fees: will increase by the lower of the RPI and the CPI.

6.12 Weir courses and team events: Where part of the course is upstream there may be more than 7 upstream gates. For Team events Team gates are optional.

6.13 Finish line: the distance between the last gate and the finish line should be no less than 15 metres but the Jury can approve exceptions.

6.14 Gates: Gates can be up to 4 metres wide. Poles may be from 1.6 to 2 metres long and 20cm above the water.

6.15 Protest Deposit:: At GB selection races, Class C Internationals and Prem races the protest form deposit is £5

6.16 Number of paddlers qualifying for Semi-Finals: no change - the motion was defeated.

6.17 Distance between events on the same weekend: is to be based on travelling times, not linear distance.

6.18 Rule Numbering: is to be changed in line with the International rules.

6.19 ACM: Is to be held in November or early December.
