About Being a Member of a British National Canoeing Organisation
You have to be a member of one of the Paddle UK national canoeing organisations (Paddle UK, the SCA, Canoe Wales or CANI) to race, but for a Div 4 race you can buy a one-day temporary membership. Once you are promoted to Div 3 you must have full membership of one of the above to race.
Div 4 – if you are taking a group to an event and take your club’s affiliation card or a copy, and providing each competitor is a member of that club and can show a club membership card or other proof of membership, they are covered and do not have to take out Event Membership.

How do I get a bib?
Once you have a bib number you can apply for your bib via the online Slalom Bib System (SBS)
Exchanging bib vouchers
The vouchers issued in 2022 (no value shown) are only backup to a credit on BAS. Normally you don’t need to do anything with them.
If you have a bib voucher issued in 2021 (shows a value of £8) you can exchange it for a bib credit on BAS. You can post it to your bib officer, or:
Strike two bold lines through your bib voucher, and write very boldly:
Your name
Your class and division
Your bib number
The date
Then scan it (or take a photo) and attach it to an email to your bib officer.
Posting Bibs
A bib can be posted as a “large letter” for £2.70 (first class) or £2.40 (2nd Class) BUT the envelope must not be bigger than 353mm x 250mm and it must (easily) go through a 25mm slot.
Bibs are tricky. You can fold one to be within this rule, but it’s easy to make it too thick. MORE>
