Please note that this competition is at risk due to high water levels.  Entry fees will not be taken from your bank account until 12th March, so please continue to enter so that the organiser can plan accordingly.  Paddle ups are now welcome.

Parking

The enhanced fee covers the boat launch fee. Parking for competitors is at the Wyedean Canoe and Adventure Center. We will have a parking marshal and hopefully can park on the Grass at the far end. Parking is payable at the Canoe Centre by Card and is £8.00 per day, per car - charging is strictly enforced! Please do not park elsewhere as the event depends on everyone following the parking requirements To maintain the relationship with local businesses 

Timings

Sunday 15th is Mother’s Day. We have been asked to leave the site by 12.30 as the restaurants will need the parking.
So official practice for Sunday race will be on the Saturday evening from 4pm with free practice only before 9 am on Sunday.  The event should be finished by 12.00, dependant on number of entries.
If we have time there will also be Team Runs on the Saturday, after practice on the New course.

If you book any of the places below, please make sure they know you are there for the Slalom to help us maintain a good relationship.

Camper Vans

There is camper van parking at The Royal Lodge, Wye Valley, Symonds Yat - Restaurant, Accommodation. 01600 890238

It’s £20.00 a night and you need to go for an evening meal. They have an outdoor toilet. Book directly in advance. 

The Royal Lodge will also be doing takeaway food and Coffee. 

Other Accommodation

The Saracens Head.  01600 890435. Food and accommodation. 

Shepperton Div 1 / 2 – 21/22 March   

Location & Parking The address & post code for SatNav is -  Lock Island, Ferry Lane, Shepperton, Middx, TW17 9LW  Parking next to the club is tight but there is space before coffee shop on Ferry Lane. Access to this will be clearly signed and marshalled from 7am on each morning. 

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE COFFEE SHOP CAR PARK FOR ACCESS OR PARKING AS THIS WILL RESULT IN THE IMMEDIATE LOSS OF THIS PARKING CONCESSION. 

We will have parking marshals to facilitate kit & boat drop off & directing.   

Camper Vans    If you park by the lock, please don't hang clothes, pitch tents, light BBQs etc by the lock. You're welcome to do this on the island by the club. 

Course Availability  The course will be erected on Friday and available mid to late afternoon for ‘free’ practice. 

The course for Sunday will be set after the Saturday event finishes & will be available to paddle.  

Pre Event Coaching  Paul Mew will be onsite from mid afternoon Friday until about 8PM to provide support for paddlers without a coach, or wanting some on water advice. Paul can be contacted directly at vetsbibs@outlook.com to make arrangements.   

Catering  The kitchen will be open, serving drinks, hot food, cakes etc.     Any profit goes back into the club.

Race being run alongside the McConkey Prem/ Div 1 race and the Div 4, and will be on the daleks below the main course.

This weekend will also be the Interclubs race… more details to follow…. 

Welcome to Fairnilee div 2/3 race and delighted to host the junior pan Celtic Event too. Plan is for Pan Celtic to run on Saturday.

Hoping to have the course set by early afternoon on Friday. There will be lots of free practice available at your own risk.

There is camping in the field at the river get on. No need to book as there is lots of space. No electric hook up. Entry to the field is at your own risk.

A cafe will be operating during race hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Planning on having a social barbecue on Saturday night. Bring food to cook on the barbecue, drinks and a chair. Further info to follow.

 We will be having camping on site and it will be necessary to pre-book.

There will be a charge for camping.  Priority will be given to helpers.

We will be having catering on site during the race.

If time allows we will have team runs

This event is being run from the Biblins Camp site which is is a 15 minute walk or paddle from the rapids. 

There will be a block booking for a group pitch at the Camp site.  Book directly with the organisers. Motor homes, contact the organisers to make alternative arrangements. 

The Camp site is ideal for other activities. Mountain Biking , Caving, Rock Climbing and Hiking. There is No mobile signal on the Camp Site. 

The Div 4 will be run on a shorter or easier course.

 The location of the race is at the top of the venue above the Graveyard.

 Please check the National Whitewater Centre web site for release information to confirm the water release.

A Whatsapp group will be created to share the latest information.

Paddleups will go on a waiting list and will be made available according to the agreed guidelines in the yearbook.

Depending on the release times more entries may be granted nearer the time. 

We will be working closely with the centre to run a  safe event.

Two day training camp followed by Division 2/3 on the river

Subject to water levels, a div 4 will also be run on the river as a shortened/easier course.  (There will be a separate Div 4 on the lake for those who would like to remain on flat water)

A camping field will be available from Wednesday 2nd Sept onsite for tents, campervans, and caravans - no booking required.

Catering will be available both days serving a range of delicious hot breakfasts and lunches as well as sweet treats and hot drinks all day. Bring your own mug for 20p off hot drinks!

There will be a WWR event after the slalom on Saturday with boats available to borrow.
