Welcome to Fairnilee div 2/3 race.

There is camping in the field at the river get on. No need to book as there is lots of space. No electric hook up. Entry to the field is at your own risk.

A cafe will be operating during race hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Planning on having a social barbecue on Saturday night. Bring food to cook on the barbecue, drinks and a chair. Further info to follow.

IMPORTANT NOTE 

 The road that leads to the club carpark is closed for the carnival but just say that you are going to the slalom and the steward will let you through. If there is no-one there and the road is coned off, just move the cones and drive onto the carpark but PLEASE REPLACE THE CONES AFTERWARDS.

A Slalom cross race will be held after the slalom race.

SUNDAY

Free Practice until 10.50

PLEASE NOTE - There will be a 1 hour break whilst a Stone Carnival steeplechase (people + dogs) is held which uses the river. This should be fun to watch!

Refreshments and hot food will be available on Saturday and Sunday. 

CAMPING

Unfortunately, there is nowhere suitable to pitch a tent by the club. Camper Vans / Vans are fine to stay on the car park overnight. Please be aware that the Circus is in town. If you park before 6pm on Friday, you can get a free 2 hours parking ticket. From Friday 6pm until Monday morning there is no parking charge.

We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Division 3/4 and Scottish Schools.

Saturday: Div 3/4 and Scottish Schools K1M & K1W & Team Runs.

Sunday: Div 3/4 and Scottish Schools C1 & C2.

If you are racing in Division 3 or Division 4, your entry will be automatically included in the Scottish Schools race at no extra cost. Please enter your school in the field when prompted. 

If you are in Division 2 or above, and wish to compete for your school, please enter the Schools Event. Please enter your school in the field when prompted.

C2 entries are very much encouraged! For the Scottish Schools competition on Sunday, you can have just two C2 runs: either two runs with the same partner or one with a Club partner and one with a School partner. Please enter one or two C2 boats in the usual way.

There will be team runs after individual runs on Saturday. Coaches will put the teams together.

Entries can be added on the day up to 10am.

A £1 site fee per paddler per day has been added to the entry fee for the maintenance and repair of the Alva facilities; this will be charged as a "launch fee" at checkout. 

There is space for camping/motorhomes in the field on Friday and Saturday at a charge of £5 per tent/van per night – no need to book. There are also a few EHU places, charged at an additional £5 per night – booking advisable – please just send us an email at crcats.events@gmail.com.

Race being run alongside the McConkey Prem/ Div 1 race on the daleks below the main course.

Saturday only: Premier Division race with Superfinal 1 Race Format

 Sunday Only: Division 1 race

Paddlers progressing to the Premier Division final are:

• K1M: 7 from run 1, 3 from run 2
• K1W: 6 from run 1, 2 from run 2
• C1M: 6 from run 1, 2 from run 2
• Cw1: 4 from run 1, 1 from run 2

Premier Demonstration runs will be: Saturday AM, Time TBC

Sunday: 

Kayak Cross head to head races following the div 1 racing. This will start approx 14.45. 

UK slalom ranking plus organisers discretion to decide seedings for head to head. 

Use of the ramp: TBC.

Every entry in the Kayak Cross is guaranteed at least two head to head races. 

Kayak Cross Race briefing prior to event to confirm rules and permitted equipment, paddles, helmets and PFDs. 

Some kit will be available to borrow. 

Onsite camping (no need to book, just turn up and pay (card payment only please) on arrival), breakfast and lunch available to purchase both days. We are hoping to have team runs on Saturday afternoon after 2nd runs, entry £3 (card payment only please) per team at control on Friday night or Saturday morning before the end of 1st runs.

Avoid late entry fees, enter in advance and make the organisers life easier.

Paddleups will go on a waiting list and will be made available according to the agreed guidelines in the yearbook.

Depending on the release times more entries may be granted nearer the time. 

We will be working closely with the centre to run a  safe event. 

 Thursday evening Div 4. Changing rooms available from 5.30pm, practice and race starts at 6pm. 

  We will be having camping on site and it will be necessary to pre-book.

There will be a charge for camping.  Priority will be given to helpers.

We will be having catering on site during the race.

 LOCATION: The event will be held on the River Tay in the Village of Grandtully. Follow signs from the A9 to Aberfeldy. The site can be found on the right hand side of the road in the centre of Grandtully. Sat Nav code PH9 0PL

PARKING: The only parking on the day is in the Paddle Scotland car park in Grandtully. There will be an overflow car park available in the case of larger numbers. In the interests of maintaining good relations with local residents and businesses, competitors and families are politely requested not to park in car parks belonging to local commercial concerns or associated side streets. 

FACILITIES: Refreshments will be available from approx 8am, serving a selection of hot and cold drinks, soup, filled rolls, etc as well as a fantastic array of home baking to cheer us all up! . Changing and showering facilities can be found in the Paddle Scotland car park. Paddlers are welcome to use the toilet block to change and shower. Please do not leave any kit or clothing etc in the shower area or toilets at any time. Anything that is left will be removed. Please remove any very wet or muddy gear before entering the facilities. 

COURSE CLOSURE: The course is likely to be set from 12pm on Friday.  

Paddlers are reminded to take care when crossing the road from the car park to the slalom site. Children should be supervised at all times.

Catering will be available both days serving a range of delicious hot breakfasts and lunches as well as sweet treats and hot drinks all day. Bring your own mug for 20p off hot drinks!

There will be a WWR event after the slalom on Saturday with boats available to borrow.

Please enter your squad details in one go (including your Squad Manager) prior to checking out - this will make it easier for the organiser and be cheaper than doing everyone individually! ALL races are shown as being on Saturday, but the races will be spread across the weekend - one entry covers the teams and individual races. The system does restrict entries within the rules to some extent but it is up to you to make sure that your entries do meet the limitations within the rules. Entering Squad Members Select appropriate class and the members usual ranking in that class.  The entry options will include all those that the paddler can enter with that class.Eg if Sue Jones ranked in Div 3 K1W, the option to enter the P/1/2 K1W races and all the K1M races will also be displayed.If the paddler is being entered as a C1 and is not ranked or previously registered on the system in C1, then

• select class of C1M /C1W (according to paddler's sex)
• select division of Guest
• click button to add them to the list
• follow process for adding them (similar to squad managers or Div 4)

Please note that all K1s and C1s not in Prem will see Vets as an option, but only masters or vets can enter the vets race.

Saturday: We will run teams with entries taken on the day.

Sunday: Fun C2 event with an emphasis on family entries. Prizes for first C2 crews made up of an adult and either a J8, J10, J12, J14 in the front. You can enter as prem/3 or div 4. Entries will be taken on the day, please enter before 10:00am on the Sunday.

On the day entries will be accepted until 10am both days, payment can be made with cash or card.

 Thursday evening Div 4. Changing rooms available from 5.30pm, practice and race starts at 6pm. 

RACE

This is the British Junior (Under 16) & Vet Champs on Saturday along with a Division 1/2 race.

 Prem paddlers should enter the Open category for the British Champs. Both Divisions will race on 3 pumps on the Pinkston white-water course. There is a fee enhancement to cover pump costs.

C2 entries are welcome; please apply for ranking before entering (bib applications). We have a number of C2s available to borrow.

PRACTICE

There will be supervised practice slots after the course is set as follow - 

Friday night      : 1 hour slots from 4:30 -8:30               £10

Saturday night :  40 minutes slots  from 5:00 - 7:40     £6

These can be booked at the same time as you enter.     

CAMPING 

We have on site camping for tents, camper vans and motor home.   Please email crcats.events@gmail.com to book camping.     This is £10 per person per night (to cover Pinkston Watersports charges only). 

PARKING

There is car parking on the streets next to Pinkston Watersports and also in the car park up the hill at 110 Barron Street. Please park only in marked bays. On site parking will be limited to pre-booked motorhomes, campervans and organisers.

CAFE

There will be a cafe serving hot and cold drinks and food all weekend.     

HOW TO FIND US 

From the M8, take J16 and turn right under the motorway and follow the road up to the left through a mini roundabout up to traffic lights.   Take a right at the traffic lights and you will see the Pinkston Watersports Orange Tower on your right hand side.

Cars are not charged to use Bradford's Clean Air Zone. Larger vehicles may be - please check prior to travelling, to inform your journey choice: https://www.bradford.gov.uk/breathe-better-bradford/where-is-the-clean-air-zone/where-is-the-clean-air-zone/ Camping available.

The additional £2.50 on the standard entry fee covers the boat launch which is required by the private landowner. Parking is payable on the day at the Canoe Centre by card and is £8.00 per day.  Please do not park elsewhere as the event depends on everyone following the parking requirements.
