Please note that entries will be in accordance with the UK rules. Those competing in Selection will not be given priority, so please get your entries in as soon as possible.   

On entering the Premier race, you will be asked whether or not you are eligible and wish to be considered for selection.

The race will be run in accordance with the Selection policy linked above. Please not the following in relation to Kayak Cross:

4.2. There will be a limit of up to 70 Kayak Cross entries in total. Subject to available entries, any athlete meeting the eligibility criteria in section 3.5 who wishes to enter the Kayak Cross Selection event should enter directly via canoeslalomentries.co.uk by the published entry deadline. 

4.3. For Kayak Cross only, athletes not meeting the criteria in section 3.5 wishing to enter for selection should enter directly via canoeslalomentries.co.uk, confirm eligibility and demonstrate an appropriate competency to participate. Entries are subject to availability of places and are provisional until confirmed at the absolute discretion of the IP following the passing of the published entry deadline.

In regards to start order please note:

11.3. The start order for all 2026 Canoe Slalom selection races will be 

-  reverse order of 2025 National Divisional Ranking 

- Top ten athletes from the 2025 senior team selection ranking going last in reverse order 

 The International Panel also reserves the right to adjust the selection start order.

Saturday - Prem Race 2 and Selection Race 3 and 4 (Please be assured that those who are registered for Selection will have a guaranteed place as long as they apply on or before 13th March.  The rules regarding waiting list order will still be applied)

Sunday - Prem Race 3, Div 1 and Selection Race 5 and 6 (Please note that athletes who are registered for selection in one or more classes will not be given a practice run in any class.  Other Division 1 paddlers and Vets will be give practice runs as normal)

Entry & Registration 4.1. There will be no separate registration process for Canoe Slalom and Kayak Cross selection in 2026. All athletes meeting the eligibility criteria stated in section 3 above wishing to be considered for selection to a 2026 Great Britain Canoe Slalom and/or Kayak Cross team should ensure that they confirm their eligibility for selection as part of the bib application and selection race entry process by entering the appropriate Canoe Slalom and/or Kayak Cross race(s) before entry limits are reached. Subject to age criteria, athletes ranked in premier (in the event(s) that they are ranked in premier) on the 1st January 2026 are eligible for all age categories. Eligible athletes meeting the criteria in 3.5 and not ranked in premier on 1st January 2026 are only eligible to enter junior selection in canoe slalom and kayak cross.

PLEASE NOTE. Judges in very short supply. Volunteers will be gratefully received! However, competitors should be aware that it is probable that they may be required to complete a judging stint during the competition.

Paddlers progressing to the Premier Division final are:

  • K1M: 7 from run 1, 3 from run 2
  • K1W: 6 from run 1, 2 from run 2
  • C1M: 6 from run 1, 2 from run 2
  • Cw1: 4 from run 1, 1 from run 2

Premier Demonstration runs will be: Saturday AM, Time 8.30am

Sunday: 

Kayak Cross head to head races following the div 1 racing. This will start approx 15.00. 

UK slalom ranking plus organisers discretion to decide seedings for head to head. 

Kayak cross will use of the start ramps.

Every entry in the Kayak Cross is guaranteed at least two head to head races. 

Kayak Cross Race briefing prior to event to confirm rules and permitted equipment, paddles, helmets and PFDs. 

Some kit will be available to borrow.

A Whatsapp group will be created to share the latest information.

Paddleups will go on a waiting list and will be made available according to the agreed guidelines in the yearbook.

Depending on the release times more entries may be granted nearer the time. 

We will be working closely with the centre to run a  safe event.
